Gee... I wonder what the solution is?
I have this thing in all my classes where I get all my kids to cross their legs and sit up straight (as I'm sure most people reading this did when they were at school). Funny/strange/fucking stupid thing is that so many girls from the age of 1 - 17 in Japan where skirts the size of a tissue so they force themeselves to be exposed in every seating position except for when they site with their legs directly under their theighs or at very strange 140 degree angles to their sides with their arses on the floor (looks like their legs have been broken honestly).
This causes a crisis for the first few weeks of a new class when I regularly remind the students to cross their legs and the girls shit themeselves because of what they chose to (not) wear to class that day. Needless to say all my girls are now wearing jeans or dresses, but I was reminded of this stupidity today when I overheard a mother talking to a sales staff about one of her daughters and another teacher who had asked to her cross her legs. The mother appartently thought it was really big trouble and didn't know what to do.
I don't know... like maybe, buying your daughter clothes that don't make her look like a teenage prostitute?
*Sigh* Don't get me started on 5 year old girls who dream of being a housewife. That's real ambitious girls!

Loop the Loop
Well Lena and Finn joined me today on looping The Loop (aka the Yamonote Line)! We jumped on the train at Yoyogi and continued to jump off/take a photo/jump back on for all 30 stations and we were only missed the train while getting back on 4 times!
Lots of crazy photos coming soon (with a unique pose for each station) and some videos of the trip too. I recomend this to anyone living in Tokyo. You'll definitly regret not doing this when you leave.

Something special (or not)
Just got back from the gym, had dinner, watched a bit of Totally Spies (a repeat damn it) and feeling a little mellow so time to post on the ol' blog!
Lots of catching up to do! Went down to Okinawa for a second time on the weekend for a friend's wedding. INCREDIBLE scenery and a hotel right on the beach! [photos coming soon!].
Am planning where exactly to go for my two week break in August. Hong Kong is locked in and am tossing up Shanghai or that "Venice of China" which I can't remember it's real name. If I can budget correctly I may do both. Mainland China is so cheap, I'm actually thinking of saving it for a weekend trip after the holidays. Pretty doable!
Koky might be joining me at MLS (good luck!), Lena'll be heading o her next stop soon and Yosenex'll be heading back to The Big Apple. Sounds like the turnover period in Japan.
Hmmm... still studying Spanish and Cantonese with a little Japanese on the side. Am starting to think I'm studying too many languages. Oh, well.
Happy Birthday to Heather and for the not-so-distant-future, Roger, Mum and Dad. Pressies coming, all of them probably a little late.
Inspiration.... fading.... fast....
We'll I think that's all for now! I'll try post some pics with the next post!
Ja Ne!

Welcome. My name's Brad and I'm about to start my fifth year in Tokyo, Japan though lately I've found that that defines me as badly as saying I'm from Sydney, Australia.
