Kanagawa woman gets 4 years for strangling 7-year-old son
This article just pisses me off so much that I had to post it! A woman kills her son and gets only 4 years?!? The reason for the early release? She has to take care of her daughter.
WTFJC!

Another client! Another site!
Marea, a gal I've been training with at MLS got me on to a friend of hers who needed a website for their production company. Just finished designing the site then and I'm really impressed with it! It's been sent off for approval and once it's online I'll post the link back here.
Pretty exciting, huh?

Another bank account...
Had to sign up for another bank account today. You see my new job can't put my pay into my current account, they require everyone to sign up with Mizuho Bank... ah, but not just that. You have to sign up at a certain branch of Mizuho Bank.
Anyway, did it. Got it. But my God some parts of Japanese society are dated.

Biyoki Desu
Am a bit sick these last few days (I blame people not covering their mouths on trains or in public as the cause) and it's really ruining my week. I havn't changed any major plans but it is making me feel a little like shit.
Funny, it's the first time I've ever had a flu or cold in Japan.

Okaaaayyyyy...
Literally seconds after posting that last post (seriously, just then!) the doorbell rang, to which I answered "Helloooo!" (because I was expecting someone). The person was a complete stranger who asked me in Japanese (which I understood) if I spoke Japanese... but he didn't let me reply!!! He paniced, yelled "Sorry! Sorry!" and then hung up the intercom thing. WTF was that all about?!?
Ah, whatever.
My new job is going great by the way! I think there's a high probability of me doing a fair bit of office work which is cool by me. A man can only do so much English teaching before he's driven crazy.
A picture says a thousand words....
...but a package in the mail with no letter says "Get your crap out of my house!".
After I wrote an old fashioned 2-3 page letter the least I expect is a little yellow postit "Hello", especially since you're sending something to me anyway.
I don't mean to sound ungrateful, I just need to rant a bit.
Grrr...

Aso's an IDIOT!
I swear to God, Japanese politics are getting just more moronic by the day. Check out this article for the foreign minister's latest remarks. Jesus Christ.

New Music
Just added some new tunes to the Radio Blog to the right. It's been 227 days since I last uploaded some songs to that thing! Hope you like them. I think they really kick arse!
Animal Crossing: Wild World
Just a quick post to anyone who has the new cool Nintendo DS game, Animal Crossing: Wild World and lives in the Tokyo area! If you'd like to play sometime send me an email to: shuttlecok@REMOVE THIShotmail.com and we can meet up! (make sure to remove the "REMOVE THIS" from the email obviously) ;)
Also, if anyone likes to play Pokemon and wants to battle or trade, I want to hear from you!
In site news, I just updated some links on the right menu. Added some more friends' blogs and personal sites etc and removed some dead links.
I GOT THE JOB!!!
Would have posted this the day I got it (day before yesterday) but I kind of hacksawed my left thumb while gardening.
Anyway, I went for my first interview (what I thought would be of many!) on Thursday at MLS which is basically a school that teaches English through DRAMA! Sounds great, looks great, couldn't wait! The interview ent really well, and I assumed they'd end it with a "We'll call you" kind of comment, but instead the managers who had been watching the interview/trial lesson spoke to the two trainer guys and basically told them that they want to hire us right away! (there were two other gals being interviewed at the same time)
We kind of couldn't believe it! This was THE job that I wanted and I got it on my first try! Contract is being signed on Tuesday and I start training on that day! Right away!
I was thinking that I'd have at least 5 other interviews and maybe start a new job at the end of Feb and then try to sponsor my Visa myself, but these guys hired me on the spot and will also spnsor my Visa! Woo!!!
What's more, we get 5 weeks paid holiday, ALL Japanese holidays paid off (with the exception of one) and a Mon - Fri job (hopefully. Not confirmed yet).
Not bad ,eh?
Later that night I went to a free salsa dance class at this Cuban bar with a few friends. My first ever dance lesson... and it looked like it too. Had a great time, but boy do I need to practice! :D

Welcome. My name's Brad and I'm about to start my fifth year in Tokyo, Japan though lately I've found that that defines me as badly as saying I'm from Sydney, Australia.
