What a nice lady
I was in one of those moods where I'd given up on Japan, the language, the food, the people... everything, but on my back from the gym I saw a woman, early twenties, give up her seat for an elderly man. Wow. That's such a rare occurence and it gave me an instant shot of hope that there is still kindness and common curtiousy in this place.
So here's a BIG THANK YOU to the woman who helped that man today. Thanks for involving yourself in the day to day life of another human being in this sometimes emotionally dead city. You made my afternoon and encouraged me to be a better person next time I see an elderly person in need of a seat.
Lead by example people!

Welcome. My name's Brad and I'm about to start my fifth year in Tokyo, Japan though lately I've found that that defines me as badly as saying I'm from Sydney, Australia.
